Melinda graduated from the University of California Santa Barbara with a degree in Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Chicano Studies. While at UC Santa Barbara she worked closely with the Community of Isla Vista, the City of Santa Barbara, and the University to co-found a teen center for at-risk youth called the Isla Vista Teen Center. The Teen Center today still assists youth with their educational needs and places them on a college-bound track.
In her quest for higher education, Melinda graduated with honors from the University of La Verne with a Master's in Public Administration.
After more than 15 years in the non-profit sector, Melinda decided to pursue a legal career when she saw horrible injustices occurring within her community. She graduated top of her class from the American Bar Association Accredited, Post-Baccalaureate Paralegal program at the University of California Los Angeles.
She is currently utilizing her education and experience with assisting the community with legal issues as a Paralegal. Melinda has over 17 years of paralegal experience in the areas of family law, civil, bankruptcy, business, probate, estate planning, real estate, and many other areas.
